In early 2016, Toyota Motor Corporation began the production of a new vehicle that would go on to become the Toyota Prius, a new, electrified and environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional gas-powered vehicles.

The Mirai Concept car The Mirajus are the brainchild of a company called the Automotive Research Institute (ARMI), which has been working to develop the technology for more than a decade.
ARMI is the brain child of a firm called the Advanced Automotive Technology Institute (AATI), which is the main research arm of Toyota.
ARPI was established in 2004 and is based at the University of California, Davis.
“Our primary research focus is the concept and engineering of sustainable, low-emission, electric vehicles,” AATI chairman and CEO Eric Guggenheim said.
“If you look at the technology, the technologies are still quite primitive, and so we want to improve them.”
ARMI has developed a new battery for the Mirajas electric drive system, which it claims will have a higher capacity than a lithium-ion battery.
This new battery will also be smaller than a current gas-engine hybrid, allowing for more room for storage in the vehicle.
This has the potential to make the Mirais cheaper than a regular gas-car.
“In our research, we have shown that with an internal combustion engine, we can get up to 80 kilometres per hour [56 mph], but the current lithium-air batteries are still less than 20 kilometres per day [11 mph],” Guggeheim said, referring to the speed of the average American car.
The battery will come in a range of between 600-700 miles.
“For a vehicle of this size, we need a large battery to deliver this kind of energy,” Gugger said.
The Mirais will be the first vehicle to be made by ARMI and a collaboration between Toyota and the ARMI, and Gugges said the Miras battery would be the world’s largest.
The company has also partnered with the French company Bosch, which produces the Bosch range of electric vehicles.
“When we first started out with Bosch in the early 2000s, the batteries we produced were very, very small,” Gagge said.
With Bosch battery, the company has achieved a range up to 300 kilometres.
“So that was a huge milestone for Bosch,” Ggug said.
According to the ARIA, Bosch’s Bosch batteries are now in the “very early stage of development”.
