Ford will open its first factory in Mexico

Ford will officially open its factory in the Mexican state of Jalisco in the summer, the automaker announced today.

Ford is investing in the manufacturing facility and plans to create more than 1,200 jobs in the state.

The automaker has been building its Mexico production lines in the U.S. for decades, and the factory in Jalisco is the latest expansion.

It joins two Ford plants in the United States and Canada that are also set to open next year.

Ford has already invested $3 billion in the Jalisco plant, which is set to employ approximately 1,400 people.

Ford plans to open the plant in 2019.
